Good day yall!, It surely is cold outside and I guess it will be for the next week. Louisiana weather is very unpredictable. One day we are in 60s and the next day we have an inch snow on the ground. Living in the South surely does have some upsides  and downsides when it comes to weather. For the perks, we don't get snowed in often, maybe once in 3 years or 4, we don't drive on icy roads like most of the people up North but summer comes with a vengeance, it will roast us on its 100+ degree temp.  and oh don't forget the hurricanes too. Well, I wont trade it in the world living here in the South! So today, due to this very cold weather, I will be taking out my trusted coat. A lot of us here don't invest on wool and heavy coats since it don't get cold that often. I am wearing a J Crew double breasted camel coat. I got this coat from Poshmark for $50. That's one thing I like about Poshmark, the seller listed this coat for $80 and I offer her the amount...

The Rosedown Plantation in located in St. Francisville, La. Our area is blessed with many historic sites that awaits to be explored. A good place to bring the kids on a spring day. It only costs $7/person to explore the grounds and $12 if you want to do the guided tour of the inside of the house.  The grounds of the plantation is composed of 300+ acres with formal landscaped gardens.  Lining in the front of the house are old moss covered oaks. It is a very beautiful place to visit especially during spring when the azaleas and camellias are in blooms.  Picnic tables are also available  when yall get hungry after the tour. Rosedown Plantation is open 9am-5pm, everyday except major holidays.  Have fun exploring! XOXO Haidee

For todays look, I choose the A line polka dot skirt from J Crew, according to our Filipino beliefs, we need to wear polka dots( resemble a coin) for a prosperous and bountiful new year ahead. I have this skirt for a long time and always my go to new year outfit and a bonus, it has pockets! Anyways, I got the skirt from Poshmark, a great place to get good deals on second hand clothes.  The top is a short bell sleeves from Ann Taylor Loft, it was on clearance and cheap. The mesh clutch was from Dillards, also on clearance. So ladies, take out all the polka dots and lets start celebrating the new year! XOXO haidee
