Blanket Scarf

Image
Yes, we cant deny it, it is definitely winter here in Louisiana! This week has been so cold, we broke the 1982 record of the lowest temp. We had our first snow this year, and of course, road, schools and offices are closed for 2 days. And this kind of weather calls for warm cozy outfits. Today I took my Zara oversized blanket scarf out of the trunk! I was waiting for the perfect day to wear this scarf. I know this one is old news but this scarf is very cozy and warm and can also be used as blanket. I got this scarf years ago when oversize blanket scarf started to come out. There are a lot of ways how to wear this kind of scarf, I folded mine into a  messy triangle to cut down the volume. The sweater I'm wearing is an old Loft gray slouchy fair isle sweater. I only wear this sweater when it is very cold. Today,  I wore a cami tank under as a layer and to prevent itching. This sweater is actually a hi low style. I didn't plan on throwing in my Kate Sp...

The Fountain

Image
Next stop is the famous fountain in Bellagio. This is something you all need to see when you are in Las Vegas. With the backdrop of the Eiffel Tower replica, water, music and lights, it will surely mesmerize you. The Fountain show is every 30 min from 3pm-8pm and every 15 min from 8pm-midnight, Monday - Friday. We were there during the day, minus the lights, it was still very beautiful to witness. Somebody said that the best place to watch it is in the Eiffel Tower Experience at night. It will cost you $16 and up to go on the top of the Eiffel Tower. The fountain show itself is free, you can sit there for hours and watch the show and it will cost you nothing. Viva Las Vegas! XOXO Haidee

Viva Las Vegas

Image
Last week we went for a weekend trip to Las Vegas, it was a very nice get away since Louisiana was experiencing a sudden cold snap. When we left  Louisiana Friday morning, it was 34F and when we got to Las Vegas it was a beautiful 63F. We had a fun time playing tourist in Sin City. In pictures, the Strip looks like its a walkable distance but unfortunately it will take you hours to  walk the 4.2 miles. Our first stop was the Bellagio. I wanted to see the beautiful conservatory and botanical garden.  I have read that they always decorate it with flowers of different kinds and suit to what season it is. This time it is  Chinese New Year! It was extraordinary indeed. I am so glad I was able to witness this beautiful display of magnificent colors. So if you happen to be in Las Vegas, don't forget to stop by at he Bellagio, there's a lot more in there, shopping, shows, the fountain and more... XOXO Haidee

Morning Dessert

Image
Good day yall! Today I will be posting about food, a Filipino dessert. This one has lots of name, depending on what part of the Philippines you are from. Some call it Bibingka, Bingka, Puto and  a lot more. This is actually a rice cake, made of rice flour and coconut milk and we usually eat it with coffee or native chocolate drink in the morning instead of eating it as a dessert. There are hundred different ways how to cook this cake, as I said depending on what part in the Philippines you are from. In the Visayas area where I am from, the most delicious Bingka for me is the one made in Mandaue. I have been looking and asking everybody of the recipe but until now I couldn't get a hold of it. Today, I tried the recipe I found in the internet.                                                                     ...

Church Day

Image
I am late posting this blog since this is an outfit for church. I have noticed that the floral embroidery has started to come back mid 2017. You can see it in dresses, skirts, tops, jackets and even jeans. What I love in this dress I'm wearing is the floral embroidery design pops out because the dress is black and the design is limited on the top part of the dress. I order this dress online and I am impressed that I wont be doing a lot of alterations when I tried it on. The length of the hem is perfect and  sleeves not too long.I am very short, only 4'5, dresses, jeans, pants and skirts needs to be altered to fit perfectly. Even the Petite sizes because I have smaller bust and wider hips so it is always hard for me to find clothes that really fits. I learn to sew and do alterations myself because I don't need to pay anybody and who else knows  better ...

New year, new resolutions

Image
First day of the year, brand new start, new goals, new resolutions and new traditions. Most of us will start this year with new goals. Some wants to loose weight, get fit and healthy, some wants to spend little and save more, some wants to spend more time with family and some wants to start checking off their bucket list one day at a time. As for me, I will start a new tradition. I will dedicate Monday for the beauty of nature. One day a week Rachel and I will go somewhere local, enjoy the outdoors and I will share to you all the fun and beauty every Monday. With school and work, this will be a bonding moment for me and Rachel. Last month, I was doing a very early family pictorial. I was captured by the beautiful view in front of me. It was quite, cold, and frost was still on the ground. I cant help but capture the view on my camera. This was taken at Buhlow Lake Park. A good place for a family picnic. When the cold season is over, the k...
